The instrument couples a TGA with a GC and MS systems.

TG-GCMS Interface cleanly separates and detects very low leves of molecules in complex mixture developed from the TGA. The EGA generated from the sample in the TGA furnace are transferred through the interface transfer line into the GC where components can be collected on a trapping media in a gas sampling loop or deposited in the head of a column. GC column separates gas mixtures and column generated peaks are detected by the MS.

GC Injection block design avoids capillary cloggings, carry over and any possible cold spots that could compromise the entire analysis. The system allows precise and real-time analysis thanks to the GC instrument which can separate and detect very low levels of material in very complex mixture.

EGA can also be directly sent to MS bypassing the GC.

TGA-GCMS system has the advantage to switch from GC separtion mode to MS direct mode automatically without any manual changes: TGA-MS Direct Mode – detects and identifies spectra. EGA can be directly sent to the MS detector taking advantage of the selectivity of ions.
